Purpose
National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) will hold a series of three seminars, inviting foresight experts from various countries and regions to gain insight to develop foresight methods and derive future visions. Each seminar will feature speakers from Canada and the U.S. (the first seminar) and Korea and Singapore (the second seminar) and Europe (the third seminar). Each seminar will focus on foresight initiatives and methods in each region. The latest Foresight information and how the role of Foresight has changed in recent years will be interesting topics for discussion.
How to participate
You can join the seminars via Zoom meeting (no participation fee). Pre-registration is required for each seminar to access a Zoom meeting.
Note: To participate in the Zoom meeting, please enter your name as [your real name] in the entry screen of the Zoom. If you enter the meeting by clicking on the Zoom’s link, you can change your default name after joining the meeting.
Note: This meeting will be held via the Zoom meeting, so the participants will be displayed on the meeting screen.

Program
In the first seminar, Mr. Arshad from Canada will introduce Policy Horizons Canada, and Prof. Dr. Börner from Indiana University, USA will introduce “Atlas of Forecasts”. In the second seminar, speakers from Korea and Singapore will talk about Foresight’s initiatives in Asia, and in the third seminar, speakers from EU and OECD will introduce Strategic foresight initiatives with the participation of various stakeholders.
Each session will consist of an introduction (approx. 10 minutes), lecture (approx. 30 minutes each) and Q&A (approx. 10 minutes each), and general discussion (approx. 10 minutes), totaling 100 minutes(120 minutes for the 3rd seminar only). Please note that the content may be subject to change.

After your registration number is issued, please register yourself individually on the designated page for each meeting.
